Liz,
Yes that is Warren Gough! I didn't realize he is the soldier, not the boy. I need to correct that & I spelled his last name wrong, too. My mom, Etta (Begerow) was Mary B's sis. She loved Warren & your mom! Wish she was still living so she could enjoy your coment! Isn't this site such fun! I love traveling back to Tottenville & to cherished family memories. I feel like I'm back there right now. :o) I loved U. Dave! He was always so sweet to us kids!

This is rattling my brain trying to remember old stories my mom told us. Is your mom still living? Did she know my big sis-Etta? Etta lives in South FL & so do I now. Or our cousin, Norm? He is Doris B's son. (Mary's sis). He is still living & has tons of Totenville knowledge :o)
Thanks for leaving a comment & letting me know that posting these pics are worth it. :o) I hope you will share memories you have with us, too!

Tot, Margie

Could it be 'Warren Gough'? If yes, that is my uncle...

Brendan Galvin says...
The location of this picture looks like the corner of Wood Ave and Amboy Rd. The store in the background - Bausch's Tailoring - became the A&M Cleaners some years later. There was a Bausch family that were neighbors on Wood Ave. My family moved to Tottenville in 1953 so this is historically interesting to me. Thanks for not only this picture but for all of them..

Brendan, I agree with Sheila. It looks like it says: Bausch Tailoring on the window. I wasn't born then but I love these photos and I'm happy to share with those of you who feel the same way. :o)

The sign states Wood Avenue. Store sign is hard to make out but I believe it states Bausch Tailoring.
