The Good Old Days!

Thanks Margie for all the information and photos you have provided so we can all enjoy this page. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My girls and I enjoy watching the Macy's Parade every year. It was my grandmother's favorite and she always shared it with me and I suppose she passed the tradition down to me and now my kids. I especially enjoy watching the parade and sharing stories of my grandma with my children. It also happens to be the week of the anniversary of her passing so its an easy time to remember her and share her with my children, whom she loved so dearly. My grandma (Etta Kleine) lived in Tottenville, Staten Island, NY until the mid 1950s and always dreamed of going to the parade again. I don't ever remember her telling me that there was no parade from 1942-1944. But she was also a newlywed with a husband (Fred Kleine) in the Army who was fighting in WWll and having her first child. So I'm sure she had more important things going on in her life then. Dee
